My child hates naps, so naptime sewing is sometimes hard. Luckily, this project is fast! My first sewing project after K was born was a mini quilt for a playmat.
The fabric is A Walk in the Woods (by Aneela Honey for Moda), and the pattern is by Amy Gibson for Moda Bake Shop.
Now I’m making one as a doll blanket for my friend’s daughter. She chose Cuzco (by Kate Spain for Moda) as the fabric, and it’s gorgeous. Here’s a preview:
And this is the most helpful little gadget ever:
It cuts fabric into perfect circles. It works best with heavily-starched fabric…I used an entire can of starch for this project. It’s worth it, though. See? Perfect circles:
Lots and lots of perfect circles (and the rocks I used as fabric weights…):
The sewing for this project goes really quickly, so stay tuned!
